We, like Adam and Eve have a free will to go our own way or subject ourselves to God. It is us therefore who must put our faith and trust in Him in order for His Spirit to do His work in us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If faith is coerced it ceases to be faith, and we no longer have a free will and therefore cannot come to Him through love.

Love cannot be coerced either or it ceases to be love. That's the whole plan of salvation which is a love story of reconciliation to those of us who willfully love God. We provide the faith because of our love for Him, and He comes into our hearts and writes His Laws upon them and does all of the work to bring us into compliance with Him. As long as we are willing to walk by His Spirit, He is able to cleanse us from all unrighteousness and into the family of God, so that we become heirs to His Kingdom.

If we complete this process then the Law is fulfilled in us, and we no longer face judgment. The Bible also repeatedly warns not to be deceived and think you know Him if you still practice lawlessness, because those who do should know by their fruits that they are still children of the devil. No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in us. It doesn't mean we never sin, but does mean that sin is the rare exception while righteousness is the norm, while with unbelievers it's the other way around.
